Small Bear Technical Consulting (SBTC) is a software technology company based in east Tennessee. The company was formed in 2004 as a consulting firm focused on providing advanced computer science services in the areas of Numerical Computation, Parallel Algorithm Development, and Formal Methods Software Engineering (FMSE). We offer tools, education, assistance, and support at all levels, essentially partnering with our clients to provide the capabilities necessary to meet their objectives.

A primary area of expertise for the firm is the domain of Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) and Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI). Our strength in Numerical Computation and Parallel Algorithm Development has enabled us to optimize and improve the scalability of the complex computations required for LSA/LSI applications. We are currently preparing a commercial release of our LSA Toolkit - details to be announced.

With a strong background in computer science research, part of the mission of SBTC is to advance the state of the art in software engineering. This is supported by our ongoing process improvement measures as well as training and coaching activities aimed at transferring Formal Methods Software Engineering practices to the field.

SBTC works collaboratively with researchers and software engineers across the country. We have the capability and experience to support geographically distributed project teams and can work with clients in any location. The firm also provides services in the areas of project management, technical writing, and system administration.
